Greetings from the Mayor of the City Nuremberg to the 9th Ethiopian teams soccer tournament of 28-30. July 2011 I am pleased, all guests, athletes and sportsmen to the 9th Ethiopian culture festival welcome in Nuremberg! I have gladly accepted the patronage for the event, which Center of a large football tournament with 20 teams in the Ethiopian community available from various European countries and the USA. I am sure we will experience a great festival of football, from which the call emanating for intercultural interaction. In Nuremberg, the commitment to cultural diversity and mutual acceptance, an important tradition and it is part of everyday life in our city. Intercultural Events in Nuremberg have an excellent reputation far beyond our region and also the Ethiopian Sport and Cultural Festival is in it a special Highlight. I thank the organizers of FC Walia Association, which supports from the association Eichenkreuz Nuremberg to ensure the success of this special event. The visitors, and I wish all assets varied and exciting days in the sign of Ethiopia - involves a lot of fun with exciting fair play, with many opportunities to meet and exchange and naturally with time to celebrate and enjoy! The main feature of the Nazi Party Rally Grounds is an extensive museum (the Documentation Center / Dokumentationszentrum Reichsparteitagsgelände) which documents the history of Nazi Germany with a particular focus on Nurenberg's role in that history. The museum is located in one corner of the never finished shell of the Congress Hall, a massive building Hitler inteded to use for party meetings. There are also several other sites on the Rally Grounds which can be accessed through a walking tour including the Zepplin Field (the site of massive rallies). Attraction type: Historic Sites

Ethiopia’s great athlete Mohammed Kedir is this year’s 2011 ESCFE invited guests of honor (Foto right). The former Ethiopian athlete and Switzerland- resident Mohammed Kedir was a member of the great Ethiopian running generation of the 80s (Green Flood), which included the likes of Miruts Yifter, Yohannes Mohammed and Eshetu Tura to name a few. Mohammed Kedir has won 60 gold, 40 silver and 30 bronze medals in 5K and 10K races in a career that span 25 years.
